Welcome to the Stowupland High School web-site.

Opened in 1978, our school site was designed to complement the rural landscape.  This setting, coupled with a strong ethos based on teamwork and positive thinking, makes Stowupland a happy and productive place in which to work and learn.

We believe, quite simply, that the education of young people shapes the future and we work tirelessly to provide students with the knowledge, skills and attributes to become responsible and independent members of both the local and global communities. We are known particularly for our extensive partnership working, our innovative approaches to the curriculum – including Personal, Learning and Thinking Skills - and our pastoral care which places personal development and well-being high on the agenda. 

Our students constantly succeed – in examination results (including the key skills of English and Maths), in extra-curricular activities, in citizenship and in further and higher education.  We are particularly proud of the achievements and destinations of our students post-16.

This web-site will provide an initial introduction to the school, but, as a specialist centre for Maths and computing, we are making increasing use of our Learning Platform.  By clicking onto the public pages, you will begin to see how the school operates on a day by day basis.   It is really important to see that theory does translate into practice!

The school motto is “Tene Virtutem” (keep hold of that which is good).  Although the world of education changes constantly and we do respond to new developments and initiatives, we also remain focused on core values.  Students will be expected to work hard, rise to challenges and to maintain high standards of conduct and behaviour.
